I'm sorry there hasn't been a post in a while, I've been busy with school work, UCAS applications and the like. In the new year I hope to begin writing more regularly. For now, here is a short post about the wonderful books I received for Christmas!
Best British Short Stories 2015 - Edited by Nicholas Royle
A collection of short stories published by a variety of authors in 2015 reprinted in one volume. I don't read huge amount of new literature, so I'm excited to read a few of these in the next couple of weeks.

The Silmarillion- J.R.R Tolkein
Having watched the Lord of the Rings films throughout this year, I have been keen to read the books. This was a present from my wonderful boyfriend, who is as keen for me to read this as I am, I think.
Metamorphosis & Other Stories - Franz Kafka
Another gift from my boyfriend, and one of his favourite authors. I really enjoy reading other people's favourite books, and as I have never read Kafka, I'm especially looking forward to reading this one.
Cook Books
Hopefully I will be beginning university at the in the autumn of 2016, so it is about time I learnt to cook for myself. Hopefully these books will help me along the way!
Delia's Complete Cookery Course
Nosh for Students Volumes 1 & 2
Penguin Clothbound Classics
What would Christmas be without these beautiful editions?! I collect them, so am beginning to amass quite a few on my shelf. As the book of Anna Karenina I read last summer was from the library, and Pride and Predjudice on my Kindle I am so happy to finally have my own physical copies. I'm also currently reading Tess of the D'Ubervilles (sob!) on my kindle, so I may switch to this edition at some point. I haven't read Emma yet, but I think I'll have to soon, mainly due to the beauty of the cover!
I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and have a happy new year!
